Fadwa Marzou

Fadwa Marzou has generously offered a painting as a cover to illustrate the book of poems in Arabic. I am grateful to her for allowing me to share some of her paintings on this page of Visual Arts. The book of poems is titled:

Who is Fadwa Marzou?

The floor is given to Fadwa to tell us about herself:
”Beyond colors, materials, and shapes, artistic expression represents for me a spiritual quest, a
journey of the soul into the infinite, an ode to the invisible, and a manifestation against
insignificance. Art is a limitless space where I can extend myself as a transparent confident, a
clear mirror, a channel, an honest friend, and a mentor. Painting allows me to find answers even
before questions arise and to translate answers that can never be expressed in simple words.
Faced with the insignificance of my life and the incomprehension of LIFE. I resign myself. I
accept the destruction of what has been given to me with confidence. But how can I bear this if I
am deprived of my right to the imagination to be and to rejoice in being so? I speak; I become
another. I am silent; I become someone else. I write, I paint, I sculpt, I dance, and I sing; I
become me and everyone else. I join the dawn, the dream, and eternity. Infinitely small and
infinitely large. In the peace of the wild world, I go home and promise the earth to return, and in
the light, I take shelter and feed on the brilliance of every spark.”

Child of the Earth.  Child of the Stars.

Je me résigne..
